SAPRA - the International Association of Defence Product Manufacturers - met with the Ambassador of Lithuania to Latvia, Audronė Markevičienė, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the defence industries of Latvia and Lithuania.
SAPRA was represented by Lukasz Cudny, Head of External Relations and Administrative Affairs, who presented the association’s activities and the capabilities of its member companies across the defence and security sector.
The discussion focused on opportunities for closer cooperation between companies from both countries, with particular attention to industrial partnerships, innovation and regional resilience.
The meeting also addressed broader developments within the European defence landscape, including opportunities arising from Lithuania’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the potential for enhanced regional and European cooperation in the defence industry.
Particular attention was given to the importance of collaboration between allied countries, industry stakeholders and innovation ecosystems in supporting the long-term competitiveness and technological development of the defence sector.
The discussion formed part of SAPRA’s ongoing engagement with national and international partners aimed at strengthening cooperation, knowledge exchange and defence industry development across the region.
