SAPRA - the International Association of Defence Product Manufacturers - participated in the Defence Industry Advisory Council meeting held at the Ministry of Defence, where key issues related to the development of the defence industry in Latvia and the European Union were discussed.
During the meeting, Council members addressed the outlook of the European Union’s multiannual budget and upcoming industry initiatives, including the Drone Summit, which will bring together representatives of NATO and allied countries, industry companies, and experts in unmanned technologies.
Discussions also covered the development of NATO’s innovation ecosystem and opportunities for testing unmanned systems in Latvia. The military training area “Sēlija” has become an official testing site within the NATO Innovation Range initiative.
The meeting also addressed NATO’s catalogue of innovative solutions, which helps member states navigate the Alliance’s innovation ecosystem and supports the development of new cooperation projects.
