SAPRA - the International Association of Defence Product Manufacturers - participated in the Lithuania-Latvia Defence and Security Business Forum, held in Vilnius and dedicated to strengthening bilateral cooperation in defence, security and critical infrastructure.
The Forum brought together representatives of government institutions, defence industry associations and companies from Lithuania and Latvia, providing a platform for dialogue on defence technologies, innovation, energy resilience and the protection of critical infrastructure. Approximately 150 representatives from public institutions, businesses and industry organisations participated in the event.
During the Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Lithuanian Defence and Security Industry Association (LDSIA) and the Federation of Security and Defence Industries of Latvia (FSDI Latvia), establishing a framework for closer cooperation in the fields of defence, security and advanced technologies.
The event was officially opened by President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, highlighting the strategic importance of closer regional cooperation and the continued development of a competitive Baltic defence industry.
The Forum also addressed defence innovation, industrial cooperation, critical infrastructure protection and the resilience of regional supply chains, emphasising the growing importance of collaboration between industry, public institutions and international partners.
Participation in initiatives of this kind reflects SAPRA's ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperation across the Baltic region, supporting international partnerships and contributing to the long-term development of the defence and security industry.
