SAPRA - the International Association of Defence Product Manufacturers - has signed a Letter of Intent with 17Tech, a Finnish defence technology accelerator. The document confirms the two organisations’ shared interest in strengthening cooperation between defence and dual-use companies.

One focus of the intended cooperation is to connect 17Tech programme participants with opportunities in Latvia and the wider Baltic region, building closer links with companies in the region.

Alongside this, SAPRA and 17Tech intend to encourage Latvian companies to participate in the accelerator’s programmes.

17Tech helps defence technology startups validate their technologies with military personnel and connects them with NATO countries’ armed forces and investors.

17Tech describes its approach as follows:

“17Tech validates defense tech startups with soldiers in their R&D center in Kyiv and battlefields in Ukraine. They connect startups with NATO countries' defence forces and investors. At the speed of Ukraine.”
