Edgars Zandmanis, Chairman of the Board of SAPRA - the International Association of Defence Product Manufacturers - met with Anatolie Nosatîi, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting was held at the initiative of Edgars Zandmanis and with the support of H.E. Edgars Bondars, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Moldova.
Jānis Mārtiņš Skuja, Executive Director of the Polish-Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PLCC), was invited to take part in the discussions.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss prospects for developing bilateral defence cooperation between Latvia and Moldova, attracting international investment and introducing modern technologies, drawing on SAPRA’s experience and capabilities in Latvia and other European countries. The discussions also covered the potential role of Latvian technologies, industry expertise and training in strengthening Moldova’s defence capabilities.
Particular attention was given to the development and integration of modern counter-drone systems, as well as opportunities for technology exchange and the implementation of joint projects in security and defence.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare and sign a memorandum of cooperation, which will provide a basis for further cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives.
